A variety of miniature cucumber that is often made into a pickle. In America it is simply referred to a pickled cucumber or often just a pickle. With a slightly prickly skin, it is normally pickled in a brine or vinegar and often accompanies other pickles. They are a bit like Marmite in that most people either love them or hate them.
