Sides

Pretty much everyone bought up in the UK loves chips, but regular ones (CHIPS being an acronym for Carbs Heated In Poisonous Substances) just aren't good for your health. So, in this recipe I switched them out for kohlrabi. This unusual vegetable, is a rich source of: Vitamin C, vitamin B6, Manganese and Phosphorous. If you can't find it, you can always use this recipe to cook celeriac or turnip chips.

Ingredients

  • Kohlrabi
  • Salt (sprinkle)
  • Olive Oil (drizzle)
  • Paprika (optional)

Method

Simply cut into your favourite chip like shapes. You can either make them thick and chunky or French fried style. Depending on which type you go for, the only difference will be the cooking time.

Dry with kitchen paper, roll in olive oil and a little salt (adding a little paprika will give them a nice colour) and shallow fry in olive oil, deep fry or cook in oven.
