This a great dish for the festive season and goes great with Christmas dinner. It is equally great with a Sunday Roast. I have never tried it with pre-made cranberry jam, but if you use the Primal recipe for it, i am sure you will love it.


  • Brussel Sprouts (500g)
  • Red Onion
  • Double Cream (3/4 cup)
  • Vanilla (1/2 teaspoon)
  • black Pepper (to taste)
  • Cranberry Jam (5 tbsp)
  • Olive Oil (Drizzle)


If your sprouts are large, remove the stalk and then cut in half.

Steam them for about 10 minutes (you can boil them if it is more convenient but they will lose some of their nutritional value). Add to a frying pan with a drizzle of olive oil and cook for about 5 minutes.

Then add all of the other ingredients and cook for a further 5 minutes.
