This is such a yummy breakfast and definitely tastes like it should be a treat! It is low in carbs, full of simple, nutritious ingredients. Children and adults love it. It's one of those breakfasts that make you feel good! Perfect to those who have a sweet tooth. It's something you can prepare the night before, dream of chocolate and then wake up to the most delicious, thick and creamy breakfast bowl.

  • ground brown flax (50g)
  • cashew nuts (or other ground nut) (25g)
  • powdered sweetener or sugar (2 tbsp)
  • chia seeds (10g)
  • milk (200ml)
  • raw cacao (10g)

Method

Into a blender place the cashew nuts and blitz until a powdery, flour consistency.
Add 1 heaped tsp raw cacao and continue to blend for about 30-40 seconds.
In to a container/ jar place the raw mixture and add in the almond milk. Mix in and then add chia seeds, stir in until fully combined
Seal the container and place in the fridge over night.
The next morning all the liquid will have been soaked up and you will have a deliciously creamy texture, stir in the powdered sweetener or sugar until you are happy with the flavour.
Serve with a swirl of nut butter, seasonal fruit/ coconut / chopped nuts /dried fruit / cacao nibs
