Custard is such a simple and delicious addition to a pudding. Especially the chocolate sponge pudding you will find on our app. In this recipe we use a little konjac Konjac flour to thicken it. You can add this too or leave it out, entirely up to you. It helps the recipe to thicken beautifully.


  • tinned coconut milk (200ml)
  • dark chocolate (80g)
  • powdered sweetener (2 tbsp)
  • optional Konjac konjac flour


In to a milk pan add the tinned coconut milk over medium heat and whisk. Add in the chocolate.
Bring to a low simmer and mix the two ingredients together until thick and combined.
Add in the sweetener and the small amount of optional fibre powder. If it is too thick, add a little more coconut milk. If it is too thin, cook on a higher heat for a few more minutes. It should be a perfect custard consistency.
Perfect to be served alongside a chocolate sponge, or even our buttery ginger cake recipe.
